Nebbiolo 2021
Spanna is what this grape varietal is called where I come from in northern Piemonte, Italy.
This wine was produced exclusively from grapes grown at in Southern Washington state.
In the style of the great Barolos of Piedmont, it has finesse and elegance. Balance, mild tannins,
and typicity of the varietal character are wonderfully displayed in this 2021 vintage. It exhibits
traditional aromas, textures and flavors of an old-school Nebbiolo. It will benefit from more time in the
bottle, but it is wonderful now. I would serve this Nebbiolo with braised short ribs with chantrelles,
osso buco gremolata, stews.
